Who will be going?

Year 12 leavers, fun-loving guys and girls, actually hundreds of them each year attend across all our events. Some are from up north, some from NSW, some from outback Qld, and stacks from SE Queensland. Schoolies from both state and private schools have come in the past. If you finish year 12 in 2011, you can be there.

Where do we stay?

Sunny Coast will be using two sites for SU-Schoolies: Alexandra Headlands Conference Centre and Luther Heights at Coolum.

What roles do the leaders play?

The leaders are there to provide support for the participants and facilitate many of the details which need to be taken care of on a daily basis. They will maintain an awareness of times for transfers to the different locations/events and have a responsibility to be aware of where participants are at various times. They aren’t there to cramp your style, but they are there to ensure that you get the most out of your Schoolies.

Do we have to follow the day to day itinerary?

In broad terms yes! Each event and group within that has its own itinerary and needs to work within this (otherwise you’ll miss out on too much). There is time scheduled where you can just hang out, shop, have space from leaders and other schoolies.

What is the Christian content for the week?

Sunny Coast each evening has a Christian speaker who communicates in a light, fun and energetic way.

How do I get there?

You can catch the bus from Brisbane. The SU-Schoolies coach schedule will be announced in September.

Can I take my own car?

You are welcome to find your own way to SU-Schoolies via private transport, but no driving will be necessary throughout the week. Bus transport is provided for all activities during the week.

Can I catch up with other friends on the coast?

You are welcome to catch up with friends and family during the week. People from outside the event are not permitted to come to the accommodation where you're staying but you are able to meet them off site - our suggestion is to meet them at the beach or at the shops during elective time.  We do ask you to get permission from your site director before making arrangements to do this.

What do I have to bring?

  • Bedding (sleeping bag, sheets, pillow, etc.)
  • Several changes of clothes
  • Funky swimmers
  • Sense of fun
  • Insect repellant
  • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant)
  • Extra $$$ for shopping, additional electives, bribes, etc.
